Werra (Vera) Eleanor Crouse, of Rockville, Maryland passed away peacefully on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Born on July 23, 1934, in Frankfort, Germany she was the daughter of the late Phillip Wolf (1891-1954) and Klara (Busch) Wolf (1895-1981).
Vera loved working in her well-manicured and beautifully flowered yard and mowing her lawn. In fact, she was still mowing her lawn two weeks prior to her death. She also loved decorating her house for the holidays and preparing family dinners. She made the best fried chicken. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. She loved her family and was excited to be promoted from grandma (Oma) to great grandma.
She is survived by her daughter, Delores (Crouse) Barnett (Ron), three grandchildren, Robert Gene Barnett, Kristen Delores Barnett, and Timothy John Crouse, and two great-grandsons, Brayden Luke Barnett, and Mason John Barnett.
She is preceded in death by her husband, M/Sgt. Timothy John Crouse (1931-1981) and her son Chief Warrant Officer (CW4) John Richard Crouse (1957-1999). She was also preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters; Kurt Wolf, Wilhelm (Willi) Wolf, Friedrich (Friedel) Wolf, Wolfgang Johannes Wolf, Hildegard Luise Wolf, Rolf Wolf, and Philipp Wolf, and Wanda Fritz.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 11 AM at Olney Baptist Church, 17525 Georgia Avenue, Olney, Maryland.
Funeral services will be held following visitation beginning at 12 PM on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Olney Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Tubbs officiating.
Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery. Date and time to be determined by US Army and Arlington National Cemetery.
