Robert Harding

Robert “Cuz” Harding passed away on Monday April 3, 2023 after a brief illness. He was 83 years old.

He was born in Olney, MD on January 10, 1940 to BZ and Marie Harding.

Robert was a graduate of Gaithersburg High School he began his career in Communications for Montgomery County Government Fire & Rescue. He retired after 32 years of faithful service to the residents of Montgomery County as a dispatcher.

He was a life member of the Gaithersburg Washington-Grove Volunteer Fire Department and served as Secretary for more than 50 years.

Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy Riggs Harding of Laytonsville. He is also survived by his three children. Robert B. Harding Jr. and his wife Mary of Stuart, Florida, Margaret Kathleen Harding of Montgomery Village, MD and James D. Harding of College Park, MD.

He is also survived by his two grandsons Robert and wife Lindsay and Andrew all of Stuart, Florida.

He was predeceased in death by his parents Father BZ Harding and his mother Marie Briggs and sisters Anna Marie Perell, Barbara White and Gloria Howard.

Besides his family he loved trains, his grand dog Pumpkin and anything Disney.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing at Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, MD on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Barber Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Laytonsville Methodist cemetery and a luncheon will follow at Montgomery Country Club, 20908 Golf View Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20882
