June Thomas

June Thomas was born on June 28, 1927, in Bridgend, Wales to Bridgetta Hopkins and Oliver George Thomas. In 1929 she emigrated to the United States and settled with her mother in York, PA. June graduated from York High School in 1945 and married Jack Thomas in October 1950. She had three beautiful children and spent her life devoted to her family and her community. She volunteered and attended at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church where she was well known as, "The Hat Lady". She was a member of the bowling league and enjoyed holding weekly bridge games with friends. June moved to Brooke Grove around 2010 and lived an active life, volunteering to play Mrs. Claus at Christmas and dancing in the communities' dance troupe. She peacefully passed away on the morning of March 29, 2022. She is survived by her son and his wife, Kent and Diane Thomas, her second son, Scott Thomas, and her daughter Lynne Bray. June also had five grandchildren and one great-grandchild who all loved her dearly. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on April 9, 2022, at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Laytonsville, MD. "Let your wind go free...."
