John "Bubby" Miller, Jr. Obituary

John C. "Bubby" Miller, Jr., 72, of Olney, MD passed away suddenly on July 31, 2019. Son of the late John C. Miller, Sr. and Minnie Lou Kibler Miller. Survived by his wife, Arva Jean Miller, as well as his five children, Victoria Lynn Alderton, John C. Miller III, Donald Edward Valentine, Christina Marie Contreras, and Patrick Vernon Valentine. Also survived by several grandchildren and his half-sister, Margo Yokay and half-brother Aubrey Mudd. John enlisted in the Marine corps in his early 20's and proudly served his country. John later worked as steel worker at Standard Supply in Gaithersburg for more than 20 years before he retired. Bubby loved sports especially tennis, table tennis and horse racing. He spent many days at Charlestown where he shared his love of the game with his wife and kids. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a longtime member of the FOE in Gaithersburg. Bubby was truly loved and respected by all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed. Though he may be gone he will never be forgotten in the eyes, hearts, and souls of his beloved family. A celebration of life will be on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 1pm to 5pm at the American Legion Post 86, 2013 Veirs Mill Rd., Rockville, MD 20851. Food will be catered by Mission BBQ of Rockville.
