Charlotte Lantz Obituary

Charlotte "Nana" Lantz, 93, of Montgomery Village, MD, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Shady Grove Hospital.

Charlotte was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was born on the Fourth of July, 1927 in Jenners, PA and grew up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. In 1947, she married the love of her life, Edward Lantz, whom she was married to for 63 years. Over the years, Charlotte was a dedicated wife and mother, who steadfastly supported her husband as they navigated life through his service in the Korean War, his career path and raising their son, Larry Lantz.

Those who knew her will remember her most for her love of animals, zest for life, generosity, smile and kindness. When she was not spending time with her grandchildren, that she adored, you could find her shopping or at the casino sipping champagne.

Charlotte's family who loved and adored her, enriched her life immeasurably. Survivors include her son: Larry Lantz. Grandchildren: Robert Lantz and Corinne Cannon (Jeffrey). Great-grandchildren: Blake Lantz, Logan Cannon, Chase Cannon, and Parker Cannon.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Eddie" Lantz, who passed away April 29, 2011 and her Daughter-in-law, Diane Lantz.

Per her wishes, she will be laid to rest beside her parents, Luther and Helen Mangus, in the Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on Monday March 22, 2021.

A celebration of Charlotte's life will be held later this year.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her honor to her favorite charity: The National Wildlife Foundation.
