Bruce McChesney Kramer, aged 75, of Gettysburg PA, passed away on December 1st, 2018, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathleen, his two children, Laurie Kramer of Olney, MD, and Brian Kramer and wife Jennifer of Ijamsville, MD, as well as his beloved grandchildren Allison and Chase. Born to Clifton and Helen Griffith Kramer of Silver Spring, MD, Bruce was a 1961 graduate of Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, MD, and went on to become a licensed plumber and member of WSSC. While caring for the family farm in Sunshine, MD, working as a plumber, and caring for his wife and children, he also served his country as a member of the Maryland National Guard. Later in life, Bruce and his wife moved to Gettysburg, PA, as Bruce had an enduring love of military history. While there, Bruce operated tour buses through Gettysburg National Battlefield. Bruce will be fondly remembered for his love of family, his signature sense of humor, and his ability to make friends wherever he went. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 15th at 1pm at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 21611 Laytonsville Rd, Laytonsville, MD 20882, followed by a short grave site ceremony. A gathering to honor Bruce will be held at the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center, 9751 Washingtonian Boulevard, Gaithersburg, MD 20878 immediately after services.
