Bernard Thomas Nagy, 65, of Gaithersburg, Maryland passed away on February 5, 2023. Bernie will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Lorraine, his three daughters, Sarah Nagy of Hanover, Pennsylvania, Melinda Previtera of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Angela O'Brien and son-in-law Sean O'Brien of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Affectionately known as Pap Pap, he will also be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren (Blair and Dean Previtera; Cecelia, Dorothy, Harrison and Natalie O'Brien, and Ulrich Salloom). Bernard is also survived by three sisters (Conrada Falvo, Corinne Wessel and Mary Lee Sutton) and five brothers (Mark, Frank, Leo, Richard and Steve Nagy) and their spouses, his many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Bernie was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. He also loved science, bird watching, tropical fish and classical music, but his true passion and legacy are his children and grandchildren of whom he was so proud. He was retired from Clarks of North America, Hanover, PA and resided in Adams County Pennsylvania for 23 years before relocating to Montgomery County, Maryland in 2018.
A funeral mass of Christian burial will be held 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Muncaster Mill Rd., Derwood, Maryland on Saturday, February 11th. Friends and family may pay their respects at Barber Funeral Home, Laytonsville, Maryland on Friday, February 10th from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
