Mrs. Donna M. Starkey of Adamstown, MD, formerly of Laytonsville, MD died on November 23 at her home. Born on June 6, 1924 in New London, CT, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth McGinn. Donna graduated from North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo, WA in 1942.
Donna enjoyed dancing at the Margaret Tapping School of the Dance. She participated in programs with the American Legion Auxiliary and USO during World War II and opened her own dance school.
Donna loved caring for her home and family. She enjoyed writing letters to classmates and sending cards to family and friends for any and all reasons. She was a lifetime member of the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair and a member of the Maryland Steam Historical Society.
She was the wife of the late William Starkey, who died January 15, 1992. At the time of his death, they had been married for 47 years. She is survived by her two children, William N. Starkey II (Linda) of Adamstown, MD and Judith S. O'Neil (Steve) of Mt. Airy, MD. Donna is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Brookes B. Starkey and Michael M. Starkey.
