Obituary

William E. Schwartzbeck “Ed”, age 84 passed away Wednesday August 11, 2021 at Carroll County Hospital in Westminster. Ed was a devoted worker who spent his life in construction and owned his own contracting business W. Schwartzbeck and Sons. There wasn’t a thing he couldn’t fix or a problem he couldn’t solve. He was predeceased by parents Russell William Schwartzbeck and Hilda Mae Carter/Schwartzbeck, by brothers Russell, Roy and James Schwartzbeck as well as sister Mary Jane Shipe and his loving wife Cora Elaine Parsley/Schwartzbeck. He is survived by siblings Belva Bower, George Ellis and Phillip Schwartzbeck. Survived by his children and their spouses Catherine and Phil McCarl, Elizabeth Schwartzbeck, Pamela and John O’connor, William and Kathryn Schwartzbeck, Daniel and Katherine Schwartzbeck. As well as his grandchildren Jeremy and Timothy McCarl, Benjamin and Jason O’connor, Justin, Joshua, Jacob, Jonathan, and Jordan Schwartzbeck, Jennifer Williams and Daniel Schwartzbeck. With 12 great-grandsons, 3 great-granddaughters and an assortment of nieces and nephews he had a full life with a large family.   
Relatives and friends may visit on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 6pm to 8pm at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11am. Interment will be at Parklawn Cemetery in Rockville, MD.
