William Thomas Gill, 75, of Gaithersburg, MD, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at White Oak Adventist Hospital. Born August 16, 1946 in Allegheny, PA, he was the son of the late Francis Gill and Martha Gill (Fisher).
Tommy was best known by most of his family as their beloved “PopPop”. He dearly loved his family, including his two dogs and parrot. He worked as a professional plumber his entire life and after retirement he often worked on side jobs with family members, Scott Randles and Roger Maze whom he loved like sons. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club #3509 for many years. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers, playing Keno and his scratch-off lottery tickets and his favorite line was “I love it at Levitz”.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wanda Gill(Goddard); one daughter, Michelle Gill-Knodle (husband Randy); one son, Shawn Gill; three grandchildren, JC LaForce, Kyran Gill and Steven Jones and one brother, Paul Gill. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by one brother, David Lee Gill in 1998.
In addition, a celebration of life ceremony to be held at his home in Gaithersburg, MD later this summer, the family will have a private cremation ceremony in Ocean City, MD to celebrate his life and mourn their loss.
