Wanda J. Macaluso

Wanda J. Macaluso passed away surrounded by her loving family in the early morning of Friday, November 22, 2024, at the age of 95.

Wanda was an extraordinary woman, a veteran of the United States Air Force, as an Assistant to the Flight Surgeon, where she met & married her husband, Joseph. Together they raised four children while Joe continued his Air Force service. She was later a social science teacher, making a positive impact on so many students’ lives.

She was a loving mother and devout Catholic. Her hobbies included daily workouts, practicing the Martial Arts, knitting and reading.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Joseph Macaluso in 1994 and her only brother Brad Monceaux in 2018.

She is survived by her son Anthony (Thais) Macaluso, her daughters Marie (Larry) Tressa, Jean Macaluso and Therese (Michael) Hughes, her only granddaughter Kristen Macaluso, and her niece Cindi (Cliff) Johnson.

A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (520 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD) at 10:30 AM on Saturday December 21, 2024. A full military funeral will take place at Baltimore National Cemetery on Monday December 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
