Sean Patrick Fitzgerald

Mr. Sean Patrick Fitzgerald died peacefully at the Casey House in Rockville, MD on December 3, 2022, from cancer. He was 59 years old. Sean is remembered by all who knew him as a kind and gentle soul who was a devoted son, brother, godfather and uncle.

Sean was born on February 5, 1963, in Cocoa Beach, Florida. He graduated from Seneca Valley High School in Germantown MD in 1981. He then received a bachelor’s degree from the George Washington University in 1985. He worked as an IT Specialist for the US Department of Education’s Office of Inspector General for 32 years before retiring in 2019 to care for his invalid father.

Sean is survived by his sister Peggy Vyas of Potomac, Maryland; his brother Charles Fitzgerald of Gaithersburg, Maryland; his brother-in-law Nimish Vyas, and his niece Keara Vyas. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Fitzgerald.

Services will be on Friday, December 16th at the Roy W Barber Funeral Home at 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882. The viewing will start at 10:00 am followed by the service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at 12:15 pm at the All Souls Cemetery at 111401 Brink Rd., Germantown, MD 20876. All family and friends are invited.
