Roselyn Dumm Colella, 92, of Olney Md. passed away on Oct. 15, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Gordon H & Esther (Kirsch) Dumm. Survived by her 3 children, Daniel Colella of Damascus, Md, Carol Mead (Robert) of Woodbine, Md. and Patrick Colella (Maureen) of Winfield, Md. Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank June 18, 2019 and daughter Debra Colella, April 13, 1988. She is survived by her grandchildren Robert, III, Christopher, Katie, Patrick, John, Christoher, Amanda, Nicholas, Jourdan, as well as Great grandchildren Dylan and Bentley, her sister Imogene Reidy of Silver Spring, Md., Claire Dumm (Dee) of Ebensburg, Pa. and Patrick Dumm (Barbara) of New Germany, Pa. and sister-in-law Sally Thomas, Tyrone,Pa. Preceded in death by brothers, the Rev. Wilfred Dumm, OSB; Rev. Demetrius Dumm,OSB; Donald Dumm, Frederick Thomas, and sister Delores Demma.
Mom was devoted to her husband Frank for 64 years. She was a devout Catholic and raised her four children with a strong faith and immense love. She was a member of St Peter’s Catholic Church for 47 years where she volunteered in numerous ways, but known for her beautiful cross stitched table clothes which they would raffle at the annual Christmas Bazaar. She was a member of Montgomery General Hospital Women’s Board and volunteered at the hospital gift shop and the annual Hospital Supper. She was also a member of The Maryknights, Fr. Rosensteel Council Knights of Columbus and St Michael’s Ladies Auxiliary Knights Of Columbus. She was also very active in St Jude’s and St Peter’s Sodalities. She was close with her 8 siblings and got together to visit, play cards, go on trips among other things. Her passions were taking care of others, crossword puzzles, embroidery, sewing, cooking, but above all spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends may visit on Wed., Oct. 21, 2020 from 10 am at St Peter’s Catholic Church, 2900 Olney-Sandy Spring Rd., Olney, Md. where a funeral mass will Be held at 11 am. Internment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Md. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Special Olympics Maryland, 3701 Commerce Dr., Suite 103, Baltimore, Md. 21227 (in memory of Roselyn Colella on checks).
