Rose Mary Burroughs

Rose Mary Appleby Burroughs, 78, of Germantown, MD passed away on February 6, 2023.  Born on May 30, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Harry William F. Appleby Sr. and Marguerite Riley Appleby.  She was the wife of the late Clifton E. Burroughs, Sr.
 

Rose Mary was a graduate of Damascus High School and a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, Damascus.  After graduation she worked at Geico.  Her favorite job was raising her four children whom she loved unconditionally and had always been extremely proud of.  She was gifted the love of antiques, strong faith and the importance of loving your family by her mother.  She loved riding horses, swimming, traveling, flower gardening, going to yard sales, flea markets and auctions.
Rose Mary is survived by her four children, Clifton E. Burroughs, Jr. of Germantown, MD, James M. Burroughs of Iva, South Carolina, Maryanne E. Stolz (Stephen Jr.) of Frederick, MD, and Raymond A. Burroughs of Germantown, MD.  Her six grandchildren (Tiffany, Samantha, Phillip, Rachel, Jack and Stephanie) and six great-grandchildren whom she loved with all of her heart.  Her siblings, Florence Appleby Rich (Gary), George W. Appleby, Charles A. Appleby (Maureen), Thomas W. Appleby (Sylvia) and John Appleby, Sr. (Thelma).
 

Rose Mary was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
 

The family will receive family and friends at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Damascus on Monday, February 13.  Visitation will be at 10:30, mass at 11:00 and interment will follow.
