Rosalie Brown Obituary

Rosalie Burke Mullinix Brown 85, of Sunshine, Maryland passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025 at Angel's Touch Assisted Living. 

She was born September 1, 1940 in Kemptown, Maryland to Lillian Burke Mullinix and Herman Leroy Mullinix. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Robert T. Brown Jr. 

Rosalie is survived by her children Christopher Brown (Brenda), Lillian "Lori" Brown-Tessitore (Danny) and Holly Hyatt (Jerry). Four grandchildren, Tyler Brown (Kaytlin), Jessie Bailey (Luke), Kylie Ryan and Annie Ryan. Two great-grandchildren, Colt Brown and Mason Brown, brothers, Randy Mullinix (Shelley) and Tim Mullinix (Donette) and sisters-in-law Roberta Currin and Linda Wymer (Jerry).

Rosalie grew up in Damascus, Maryland until she met her sweetheart, Bob - they were married in 1958. She and Bob settled in Sunshine, Maryland where they spent over 60 years together collecting antiques, making memories and raising their family. 

She worked as a Financial Secretary at Sherwood High School for over 30 years where she was fondly known as the "bank lady". She enjoyed her summers off from school - Gardening & Canning - Peaches, raspberries, tomatoes, corn, squash, potatoes and much more. 

Rosalie was a devoted member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church where she faithfully served and was always willing to be a part of any committee - she was a driving force for the annual Ham and Oyster Dinners.

Rosalie touched the lives of all who knew her with a gentle heart and giving spirit. 

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend - she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. 

Memorial Service will be held September 27, 2025 from 11am to 1pm at Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882.
