Richard N. Dobson

Richard N. Dobson, 81, of Gaithersburg, MD passed away on July 22, 2021. Son of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Dobson. Survived by his wife, Maria Dobson, as well as his children, Charles J. Dobson, Christopher J. Dobson, Cynthia J. Dobson, Curtis J. Dobson, Jamie Dobson Ansell, Erich L. Dobson, and two stepsons, Joseph M. Sorrentino and Mark R. Sorrentino. Also survived by four grandchildren. 

Richard spent 14 years in Naval communication, leaving the service with an honorable discharge as a Communication Warrant Officer.  Following his service years he was involved with telecommunication for Comsat, MCI and IDB.  With Richards communication background he became a member of the Damascus Emergency Communication Team.  In his retirement years  his love of dogs led him to involve himself in the dog walking community.

Relatives and friends may visit on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 6pm to 8pm at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882.  Interment will be in New York.
