Raymond William Russell

Raymond (Ray) William Russell,71, beloved father, brother, uncle, great-uncle, passed away on July 11, 2026.  He is survived by his loving children, Raymond Samuel (Sam) and Maura.  He is also survived by his sister, Diane Holland and her husband Gary and their daughter Meghan and her husband Larry.  He has numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Allshouse Russell, and his parents, Raymond and Elnora Russell.

Ray owned a painting company for over 20 years and made many people happy with his beautiful work. He had a degree in criminology from University of Maryland and was 5 credits away from a philosophy degree. Ray loved gardening, watching football, painting, and going to the beach. You could find Ray on a Sunday playing golf whether he was on the course or hitting balls in the backyard.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 2pm to 4pm at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882. 

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to either Disabled American Veterans or at Shepherd’s Table.
