Ray Foster Obituary

Ray McKinley Foster

October 16, 1959 ~ September 12, 2025

65 years old

Ray McKinley Foster, 65, of Clarksburg, Maryland, died September 12, 2025, at Montgomery Village Health Care Center.

He was born October 16, 1959, in Montgomery County, Maryland, to Jennie Carter Foster and Raymond Brown Foster. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ray is survived by his stepfather, Stanley Robey Sr., his son, Cory Foster (Holly), two grandchildren, Brandi J. and Wade A., three siblings, brother David Foster, stepbrother Stanley Robey Jr., and stepsister Rhonda Robey Turner (John), as well as nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and friends.

Ray grew up in the Veirs Mill Village area of Montgomery County, where he attended Wheaton High School. He was always the "Class Clown" even when not in school! He devoted time as a life long caretaker housesitting, petsitting, and babysitting. If he was taking care of your home while you were away, you were assured to return to a clean home, although you may not have been able to find where you left some of your belongings. Ray loved spending quality time with his grand babies and would jump at every opportunity. He loved bragging about them and showing their pictures. Hanging out with family and friends meant the world to him. Believe it or not, it would take him almost an hour to say his prayers each night. He mentioned people's names, one by one who were the closest to him. You, were probably one of those people. An important event in Ray's life was when he became sober on February 18, 2002. He celebrated 23 years, was so proud of his sobriety, and would remind you all year, the exact number of months and days until his next anniversary! He was dedicated to his AA group and held a strong bond with friends he gained from attending those meetings. We were all proud of him for his accomplishment. He had a beautiful penmanship, a great voice, loved music, and singing karaoke. He would belt out a song so loud in the middle of nowhere, unexpectedly. He loved to watch wrestling, football, and old shows like Andy Griffith and the Golden Girls. He made several phone calls every single night to say good night to his loved ones. To say he will be missed is an understatement. To know Ray, was to love him! He certainly had a heart of gold. Oh yes, and he had the whitest Converse Chuck Taylor shoes. So long Ray. Til we meet again.

We all love you.
