Patrick R. McNeill August 7, 1976 – May 11, 2026
Patrick R. McNeill, remembered for his gentlemanly nature, humble spirit, hardworking dedication, and the deep love he held for his family, passed away in Hagerstown, Maryland. Born in New Jersey, Patrick moved to Olney, Maryland at a very early age, where he grew up surrounded by family and community. He enjoyed sports—especially golf—enjoyed comedy movies, and found joy in live music. He adored being an uncle to his nephews and was always concerned with the well‑being of others.
Patrick was a 1994 graduate of Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, Maryland. He attended Montgomery College and the University of Maryland in College Park. He worked throughout his life in the country club, landscaping, and food service industries, and he took pride in the many handyman jobs he did for others. He was a creative soul who loved to draw and write, finding quiet joy in expressing himself. A dedicated son to his late parents, Jacqueline and James McNeill, a faithful brother, a loving uncle, and a follower of Jesus, Patrick lived with humility, gentleness, and a steady warmth that touched everyone he met.
Patrick is survived by his brothers, Jim McNeill and his wife Margaret, and Marty McNeill and his wife Lorrie; and by his sister, Mary Ann Paugh, wife of the late Richard Paugh. He was a proud and loving uncle to his nephews James, Nolan, Ryan, and Aidan McNeill, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Patrick was predeceased by his beloved parents, Jacqueline and James McNeill, to whom he remained a devoted son throughout his life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Patrick on Thursday, July 16, at 10:30 AM at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church — the country church — located at 8817 Urbana Church Rd, Frederick, MD 21704. Family and friends are invited to gather in prayer and remembrance as Patrick is honored in the faith he cherished.
Following the Mass, a reception and visitation will take place at the Atlantic Grille, 3531 John Simmons St D‑05, Frederick, MD 21704, where loved ones can share memories, offer support, and celebrate the gentle, humble spirit Patrick carried throughout his life.
Walking through life with humor and perseverance, Patrick faced life’s challenges. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” As he reunites with his beloved parents, may he rest in God’s everlasting care, and may his memory continue to shine gently in the hearts of all who loved him.
