Norman L. Harvey, 87, passed away August 23, 2021.
Born in Fitchburg, MA, Norman is a 1958 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he earned a degree in psychology. Following this, he worked for the US Department of Labor while also serving in the Army Reserve for 26 years, reaching the rank of Lt. Colonel. An incredibly well-rounded individual, he maintained a life-long love of learning as he read countless books, engaged in endless DIY projects, and fearlessly tried new things, from Scottish dancing to riding a Segway on a mountainside. He consistently acted with integrity and treated others with compassion, always willing to help those in need. All who knew him will miss him sorely.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Harvey, their sons Leslie Harvey and Lance Harvey and Lance’s wife Nessi Harvey. Their daughter, Paula Leach, passed away earlier this year. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Norman will be laid to rest in Parklawn Memorial Park on September 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Rockville, MD. Funeral services will be private.
