It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Mildred “Millie” Fraley Stang, who died peacefully on May 30, 2025, in Frederick, Maryland, at the age of 95. She was the beloved wife of the late Carroll Raymond Stang, with whom she shared a loving marriage, and predeceased by her sister Barbara Lewis.
Millie was the proud and cherished mother of five children: Lee Stang (Patti); Susan Ahalt (Ronald); Richard Stang (Maureen); Karen Paradiso (Jim Schaeffer); and Mike Stang (Elsa).
She was a deeply loved grandmother to Lori Fields (Danny); David Ahalt (Amanda); Kristi Hawkins (Dave); Stacy Fritts (Doug); Allison Cristman (Fred); Lisa Parsell (Chris); Chris Stang (Lindsey); Cammie Stang (Ryan Arnold) and Stephanie Paradiso (Adam DeAscentis).
Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: BreAnn Reed (Justin) and Travis Fields (Makayla Lamar), David and Ford Hawkins, Caroline and Layla Ahalt, Alaina Fritts, Dave and Bill Cristman, Tamara Ryan Ball and Sarah Parsell, Shea, Sawyer, and Annie Stang.
Millie will be remembered for her strong spirit and deep devotion to her family. She was often found with a book in hand, a crossword puzzle in progress, or a crochet project on her lap. She had a warm heart and was always a joy to be around.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Spring Arbor of Frederick and to Frederick Health Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Millie’s final days.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Barber’s Funeral Home on Thursday, June 5, 2025, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment at Forest Oak Cemetery in Gaithersburg will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Millie’s memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Frederick Health Hospice
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
