Melvin Leroy King, Jr.

Melvin Leroy King Jr of Mount Airy, Maryland passed away Saturday 4/16/2022 peacefully at his home at 82 years old. He is survived by his wife Helen King, his sons Melvin King III (Nancy) and Robert King. Grandchildren, Ronald Mills, Shannon Mills, Melvin King IV (Courtney) Amber Barnes (Ervin). Great grandchildren, Jacob Shrewsberry, Savannah Mills, Cole Wright, Layla Broadhurst, Kevin King, Miranda Barnes and Ervin Ray Barnes III. Numerous brothers and sisters (Pookie, Debbie, Peg) he is proceeded in death by his Parents Melvin and Mildred King; Sisters Vivian King, Ruby Howell, Nancy Stokes. Brothers; Ronnie King, Billy and Bobby King and his daughter Tamela Mills (Son in-law Ronald Mills Sr.) Mel served in the United States Army & Later on retired from the local union with T.A. beach. He was very proud of his family, especially loved seeing all his grandkids. He enjoyed his Mercedes, watching the Baltimore Ravens, Fishing and Hunting. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Services will be as followed; Sunday (viewing) 4/24/22 2-4 & 6-8pm at Barbers in Laytonsville, MD. Monday (Funeral) 4/25/22 starting 11am at Barbers Funeral Home, where he will be laid to rest at Parklawn Memorial Cemetery.
