Melba Lee Marine McKeever, 95
July 27, 1925 - March 6, 2021
She passed away at her home surrounded by her family. She passed away from a fall that she struggled to recover from for one month, not Covid.
She was married February 18, 1950 to James Edwin McKeever (Ed deceased in 2008). They had 3 children, Terri McKeever of Sandy Spring, MD, Mary Beth McKeever of North Carolina and James Edwin McKeever, Jr. (Jim) of Ijamsville, MD. Jim is married to Andee McKeever and they have three children, Win, Jaela and Jobee. Melba and Ed had a business, “James E. McKeever, Inc.“ specializing in rock drilling and blasting which has continued and expanded by their son and is now “JEMCO “.
Melba was a “force to reckon with “. She ran the family business and donated her spare time to various charities. She was instrumental in the development of Montgomery Hospice in her position with the Rockville Junior Women’s Club. In her later years, she supported many charities, especially for children. She touched many lives and was revered as a special mentor to many. Her love and spirit will be missed by all. She devoted her life to her children’s happiness. She leaves a hole in many hearts. Her Kubota tractor will miss her too.
A private family service will be held and we plan to have a celebration of her life on her birthday in July.
Please donate to Montgomery Hospice or a charity of your choice in honor of our mother. Thank you.
