Mary "Sheree" Seale Wenger
April 28, 1961 - April 22, 2022
Sheree was born in Hackensack, NJ to her parents Idan A. Seale (1983) and Laura (Barbera) Seale (1975)
Survived by her loving family, husband of 41 years, Eric M. Wenger, sons Joshua and Adam, and daughter Lindsey, and many cousins around the country and world.
The magic of Sheree's life touched many people, and while her parents died when she was a young woman, she truly lived an extraordinary life.
Sheree was her own woman, and while you could tell her what to do, it is unlikely that you find her amenable, and indeed, she was likely to have shocked you with her forthright and sometimes bawdy responses.
Sheree's father worked in the aerospace defense industry during the cold war, being an aerospace engineer, working on Polaris and Poseidon Rocket Systems.
This led Sheree’s family from New Jersey to Michigan to Texas, Maryland, Germany, and back to Maryland, with stops in Florida, New Mexico, England, France, Italy, Sicily, Spain, Switzerland, and more.
Sheree lived in Heidelberg, Germany with her mother and father between 1969 to 1971, truly a world traveler by the time she was 11 years old!
Returning stateside in 1972, Sheree lived in the Rock Creek Village area of Rockville, MD, attending Wood Junior High School and Robert E. Peary High School, where she would meet her future husband, Eric.
After falling in love in High School, Eric and Sheree were married at the tender age of 19 on August 7, 1980, and they made a home on the 17th floor of Rock Creek Terrace Apartments, in Rockville, MD with their cat Hershey. Son Joshua was born in 1981, and son Adam was born the summer of 1982.
After her father passed away in 1983, Sheree, Eric, Josh, Adam, and Hershey the cat moved to her father's home in Rockville, MD.
Eric and Sheree purchased a local lawn care franchise in 1984 after Eric had worked with the company for 3 years.
Sheree and Eric have many friends and they made many more friends while sponsoring an adult league soccer team. As the only married couple with kids, at the time, Sheree decided to throw parties where their friends and soccer teammates could hangout, eat crabs, drink beer, play volleyball, and listen to great music, sometimes by live bands.
In 1987, Eric and Sheree purchased a small “farmette” in the historic town of Laytonsville, MD and moved their family to the quaint and beautiful Rainbow Hill Farm, where they still reside and work.
Sheree always wanted a daughter, and in 1988 her wish was fulfilled when Lindsey Erin was born, giving Sheree, Joshua, and Adam, and Eric much joy. The family had grown to two boys, a girl, two dogs and a cat. Sheree was overjoyed and knew we must continue our tradition of parties for our friends and neighbors. Pigs were roasted, crabs steamed, horseshoes tossed, volleyballs volleyed, and kegs floated - these parties were epic.
In 1992, Sheree and Eric started a landscape company, Complete Plant Health Care and Maintenance, to complement their lawn care franchise. In 2004 Sheree and Eric parted ways amicably with their lawn care franchise family and started Complete Lawn Care to be more in line with their goals of growing and maintaining lawns and landscapes in harmony with nature.
By this time, Sheree had become deeply involved and in love with the small and historic Town of Laytonsville, MD, population then, around 200 people and some cows. Sheree joined the Laytonsville Historic District Commission, eventually becoming the Chair of the commission and she also served with Laytonsville Historic Center, the Laytonsville Women's Club, was Secretary of the Citizens Advisory Board, and she was often an election judge for town elections.
Sheree was a “Force” in Laytonsville!
All the while, raising kids, taking care of pets, (including fish, a snake, and leopard gecko), working with her companies, volunteering at Laytonsville Elementary School, driving kids to scouts, soccer, football, karate, and cooking incredible meals for her family – simply an amazing person!
Always generous, Sheree loves animals, and anyone or anything that needs help, including special-needs children, wolves and whales to birds, donkey's, horses, dogs, cats, and more.
Sheree is a longtime supporter of Special Olympics, The Lollipop Kids, Laytonsville Volunteer Fire Department, local police, and the military. The USO, Wounded Warriors, Hero Dogs, and Patriot Point to name just a few.
Sheree's generous nature, forthright opinions, and loving heart will be missed by her family, friends, and neighbors in Laytonsville, and most of all, the love of her life, Eric.
A non-religious memorial and celebration of life will be held at Montgomery Country Club, 20908 Golf View Dr. Gaithersburg, MD 20882 on Friday May 20th, from 6 PM to 9 PM.
