Mary Ellen Cook

Mary Ellen Cook, devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024 at the age of 85 surrounded by her family.  She is survived by her husband Ernest G. Cook III, four children, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren: in-laws, a sister and brother, many nieces and nephews, and extended family.  She is predeceased by a son, brother, parents, and other relations.

Our mom will be remembered as a woman of faith and love for God. She loved raising her family, especially the babies. She enjoyed spending time with her life-long group of friends, dancing, singing, Elvis, country music, and family vacations especially at the beach. Mary retired from Montgomery County Public Schools where she was a Cafeteria Supervisor.

Relatives and friends may visit on September 15, 2024 from 2:00-4:00pm ET at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, MD 20882. 

The family will hold a private service for Mary followed by a private interment at Resthaven Cemetery in Frederick, Maryland.
