Mary G. Soulea

On Thursday, June 27, 2024, Mary Gray Soulea passed away in her sleep at the age of 79. She was the beloved mother of Audrey R. (Everett) Warren, Teresa R. (John) Bean, and Jaime M. Rivera; grandmother of two granddaughters, Liliana C. Bean (Ryan Pickrel, fiance) and Mariela S. Lacayo; sister of Barbara Jones and Jeannette Kiminas.

For more than 38 years, Mary proudly performed as a manager for Verizon Communications, formerly Bell Atlantic and C&P Telephone Company. Starting her career in Washington, DC, Mary worked as a secretary for the District Office Director. Later, she was promoted to a Business Office supervisor working in various locations in Wheaton Plaza, the Chesapeake Complex in Silver Spring, and Beltsville, MD. Eventually, Mary took on the role of trainer for new service representatives coming into the Business Office. Even after her retirement in 2001, Mary still worked with Verizon through a temporary agency. Mary found great satisfaction and was very proud of the work she performed throughout her career.

In her free time, Mary enjoyed going on many cruises with her sisters where she met new people and discovered new places. She also decided to try Facebook and successfully used it to keep in touch with her many friends and former coworkers. Perhaps most of all, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and especially lit up whenever she was with her granddaughters. Mary will be greatly missed.

A private service was held for immediate family at Laytonsville Methodist Cemetery, Laytonsville, MD, where Mary is interred with her mother, father, and extended family members.
