Lee A. King, Sr.

Lee A. King, Sr. of Gaithersburg, MD passed away Tuesday 21 June 2022 peacefully in his sleep at 83 years old. He is survived by his wife Jane E. King, his children Lee A. King, Jr. (Tresa), Steven T. King, Sr. (Kelly), Kimberly S. King and Kevin S. King (Martha); grandchildren Richard Bynaker, Joseph King, Steven King, Jr., Ashley Cloud, Kelsey Johnson, Garrett King, April McConnell, Gabriel McConnell, Amanda Roberson; great grandchildren and siblings Walter King, Ruth Swaney and Sara King. He is preceded in death by his parents William H. King, Sr. and Bessie L. King; siblings Reginald King, Walter King, William King, Jr., Roger King, Joseph King and a grandson Michael Roberson.

Lee served in the U.S. Army Reserve with the 800th MP Company and later retired from sheet metal union, Local 100. He was proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with his grand and great grandchildren. He enjoyed taking cruises, fishing, making wine and spending time in the woodshop. He especially enjoyed helping with the grandchildren’s youth camps, where he was known by all as Pop. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Services will be as follows; viewing Tuesday, June 28 from 6-8 pm and Wednesday, June 29 from 11 am-12 pm, with the funeral service to begin at 12 pm, at Roy W. Barber Funeral Home located at 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, MD 20882. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville, MD.
