Obituary

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Larry Swenson of Laytonsville Maryland, USA, beloved husband of Tina and devoted and loving father to Alex, Liam and Anna and step-father to Michael and Nathan Britt. Larry is also survived by his granddaughter Jane, and ex-wife and mother of his children, Liz Swenson.

Larry is the son of the late Bob Swenson and Barbara Swenson Faries, brother to Debi Ray-Rivers (Jerry), Glen Coco (Barbara), and Randy Whiting. He is also survived by his nieces Brittany & Christy Ray, nephew Jason Cuoco (Tina) and niece Kari Carriero (pre-deceased Chris). Other relatives include Larry’s Aunt Georgette Roberson (Ray), Uncle Paul (pre-deceased Susan), great nieces Bella, Ellie, and great nephew TJ.
Larry has many very special lifelong friends including Mark Henneberger (Jill) Alex & Ana McLaughlin, Paul & Pia Kirwan, Keith Bridges, and many other friends too numerous to name.

Larry was a manager at Mermaid Beach Hotel in Warwick, Bermuda early in his career.  He was a lifelong entrepreneur, starting multiple successful businesses including Lexiam Properties and Alexander Appraisals. In 2012 Larry opened The Office Cafe and Lounge, bringing the entire Laytonsville Community together. Larry also founded the annual Office Charity Golf Tournament, which has raised over half a million dollars for families in need and organizations in the Laytonsville and Gaithersburg community.
If you were lucky enough to know Larry, you know there is no way to sum up his larger-than-life personality and the impact he had on others. All who met Larry instantly knew they had just met a friend for life. He had an unbelievable gift of making any and every one feel comfortable, special and loved. We hope you were lucky enough to receive that gift.
Larry always reminds us to never give up, to sing, to laugh, to dance, and to always be thankful to the Lord.  We hope that you always remember Larry’s example and feel his joy always.
