John Peter Straathof, 97 of Olney, Maryland passed away peacefully on Aug 3, 2023 at Casey House Hospice. John was born January 13, 1926 in The Netherlands. John is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Corry. John and Corry moved from The Netherlands to Canada and then settled in Maryland owning and operating their business, Dutch Landscaping Service until his retirement. John and Corry raised their family in College Park, Maryland. He is survived by his children, Raymond, Jeffrey (Mafalda), Elaine (Chris), Bryan (Mariana), Denice (Tony) and John (Jessie). Additionally, he is survived by grandchildren Julie, Jason, Mandy, Dominick, Corry, Mira, Elizabeth, Matthew, Halie, Joe, Kyle, Katelyn, Noah, Luke, Finn and great grandchildren Emerson and Kennedy.

Services will be held at St. Peter's Chapel 2900 Olney Sandy Spring Road, Olney, Maryland on Wednesday, August 9th at 12:15 pm. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson's Foundation at http://www.parkinson.org.
