Our loving mother of eighty-five years, JoAnn passed peacefully at Avow Hospice Center in Naples, Florida September 22, 2021.
Born on her grandparent’s dairy farm in Woodfield, Maryland August 22, 1936, she spent most of her life in Maryland raising her family.
JoAnn was a 1954 graduate of Sherwood High School, Sandy Spring, Maryland and a 1956 Maryland Medical Secretarial School graduate (Hagerstown Business College). She retired from the business office at Community Radiology and moved to her beloved Naples, Florida home with her husband Carl F. Richards. She spent many years among her lovely gardens, travelling the world, walks on the beach, and hosting friends and family when they visited her sunny Naples home.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 42 years Carl F. Richards of Naples and her four children, Lyn Burrelli (Olney, Maryland), Elisa Tredway (Southport, North Carolina), Andrew Daymude (San Luis Obispo, California), and Matthew Daymude (San Diego, California); and her seven cherished grandchildren: Jonah Burrelli, and Joshua, Danielle, A.J., Courtney, Chloe and Layla Daymude, two young great grandsons, Easton and Brooks, two stepdaughters Kristin Weschler and Laura Richards and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Kathryn Howes, two brothers Paul Allen Howes and John Howes, her children’s father Earl Daymude and two lifelong friends Gloria Harding Valdenar and Augusta Mae King Wayne.
A celebration of life is planned for Spring of 2022.
A private Christian burial is scheduled at Mt. Carmel Cemetery Sunshine, Maryland October 7, 2021.
