It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Michael Boyd, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. After a recent diagnosis of advanced cancer, Jeff passed away at home with his family by his side. Born on February 5, 1954, in Cumberland, Maryland, Jeff is survived by his devoted wife, Diane, and his two sons, Matt (Lauren) Boyd and Sean Boyd. He was a proud grandfather to his two grandchildren, Baker (2) and Brynley (9 months) Boyd, who brought immense joy to his life.
Jeff was predeceased by his parents Leo and Margaret Boyd, his brothers, James Boyd and Charles Boyd and sister, Jane Moore.
After graduating from Bishop Walsh High School, Jeff attended the University of Maryland, where he became actively involved with the Sigma Nu Fraternity and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business. It was during his time at Maryland that Jeff met Diane, his future wife, and they began a courtship that lasted six years. On November 8, 1980, they were married at the College Park Chapel on the University of Maryland’s campus, the very place where their relationship began. Over the course of their 44-year marriage, Jeff and Diane cherished the simple joys of life together, with Jeff always finding a way to make Diane laugh every single day.
Jeff was the President and Founder of Synergy Sales and Marketing, a successful IT business in the private sector that he led for 31 years. His dedication and leadership left a lasting impact on both his colleagues and clients. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jeff was deeply involved in his community. He served as the Booster Club President for Magruder High School for eight years, where his efforts enriched the school's programs and the lives of many students.
A man of many talents, Jeff spent over 30 years as a musician in the Classic Rock cover band Dreamstreet, sharing his love for music with those around him. He looked forward to every gig and loved the musical bond he shared with so many of his friends.
Jeff will be remembered not only for his professional success and community involvement but, more importantly, for his sense of humor, generosity, and the countless friendships he built throughout his life. Jeff’s genuine ability to connect with people made him cherished by all who knew him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
