James T. Stinson, Sr. (Tom) 74, gained his heavenly wings on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Carroll Hospital Center from a heart event.
Tom was the biological son of Edward Leonard and Marion Stinson, deceased. He was the youngest of three brothers Edward L. Stinson, Jr. (deceased), David Stinson (wife Diane) of St. Augustine, FL.
Tom always thought of Ronnie & Janet Keyton (foster parents) as "the only parent's he ever knew".
Tom was a 1969 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, Frederick, MD. He served the community of Frederick as a volunteer EMS/Firefighter for many years. He spent most of his business career in the newspaper business with the Frederick News Post and Comprint Printing Company. He also worked many years as a warehouse/fulfillment manager and owner.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Margaret Hines Stinson (Maggie); son James T. Stinson, Jr. (wife Sandy) granddaughter Samantha, grandson AJ of Cockeysville; daughter Heather Stinson Putnam and granddaughter Morgan of Jacksonville, NC; and stepson James Shank (wife Jen), grandson Connor, granddaughter Riley of Damascus.
Tom was proud that he served his country as a U.S. Marine MP and was a member of the American Legion Post 11, Frederick, MD, where he enjoyed helping with the bingo group.
In true form, Tom was an organ donor and hopefully his selflessness will help others move forward with their lives.
The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life at a future date.
Donations can be made in the name of Tom Stinson to either the American Legion Unit 11 Auxiliary or the American Legion Post 11, 1450 Taney Ave., Frederick, MD. 21701.
