Jack Lacy Hitt III

Jack Lacy Hitt, III, 63, Gaithersburg, MD went to be with the Lord on August 20, 2023.  Born on June 30, 1960 in Maryland.  Preceded in death by father, Jack Hitt, Jr.  Survived by son, Jack and wife Brittany, grandsons Brandon and Jack, V, and partner of 23 years, Melissa Carroll.  Also, very special friends, Greg, Inger, Gene, & Garrett Mills, Greg Klein, Joe Romano, Johnny Poole, Dale, Sandy, Samantha, and Lynda Knight, H.O. Worthington, Karen Griggs, Charlie Ayers, and Gene & Linda Walker and family, and many other friends too numerous to name.  He was a 1978 graduate of Rockville High School and member of the Church of God, Rockville.  He served two years in the Marines, Camp Lejeune.  Jack joined the family towing business in 1976 and provided local and long-distance towing and recovery services.  Jack took a break from the towing business for a few years and hauled sod for J T Patton & Sons as well as delivered fuel for Riverside Petroleum.  Jack returned to the towing business, which was his love and passion.  Jack was a very kind, generous and caring person and went out of his way to help others and was known to have a big heart.  He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.  Viewing is scheduled for Friday, September 1, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, MD 20882.  A brief service will be at the Barber Funeral Home on Saturday, September 2, 2023, beginning at 10:30 a.m.  Internment will immediately follow at 1:30pm at the Ivy Hill Cemetery, 8584 John S Mosby Highway, Upperville, VA 20184.
