Reenie Peratino Welsh (58) passed away on Thursday May 2nd, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Silver Spring, Maryland to Chris Peratino and Dooley Stephanos, both deceased. Reenie had an infectious smile and a beautiful spirit that touched all the lives around her. In the last several years of her life she had many health issues, but that never stopped her from making a joke or laughing and always seeing the positive side of everything. She showed love and joy to her family and friends, and frequently opened her home for parties and celebrations. Throughout her life Reenie exceled in so many ways. She was a cheerleader, gymnast on the Varsity gymnastics team, and later got her real estate license and paralegal degree. She was a supportive loving mother to her children Christine Jack and Brian. She is survived by her husband, Greg Welsh, who lovingly took care of her and was by her side through all these years. She is also survived by her four sisters Eva (Mike) Tuck, Despi Mahaney, Christine Rector, and Elaine Peratino. She will be missed by so many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The funeral service will be the Greek Orthodox church St. Constantine & Helen at 721 Norwood Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20905 at 11:00 am on Friday, May 10. The doors will be open at 10. The burial afterwards will be at 3067 Mt Carmel Cemetery Rd. There will be a reception at 1:30 at the home she shared with her loving husband Greg at 1113 Hawlings Rd, Brookeville MD 20833.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Moser Center for Leukodystrophies Research at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
