Obituary

 

Ida Ellen (Hope) Rader passed away peacefully Sunday, September 3, 2023.

She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years Charles Rader, her son John Rader (Alice), daughter Tamara Homick (David), five grandchildren: Timothy Rader (Erin), Lenea Stocker (Michael), Justin Homick (Cara), Daniel Homick, and Brittany Hill (Jason), five great-grandchildren: Caitlyn Clark, Owen Stocker, Tanis Rader, James Stocker, and Kitiara Rader.

Daughter of Sherlock Ross Hope and Ida Ellen Trewhitt, Ida was born in Gary, Indiana November 13, 1932. She lived most of her childhood in Knoxville, TN. After marrying Charles, she moved to Washington, DC. She was employed by the FBI for twenty-one years. Most of all, Ida cherished time with her grandchildren. She loved feeding the squirrels at her home and sitting on her porch at the beach house. Ida had a passion for yard sales at the beach and delighted in decorating her home with these treasured finds.  

Visitation for family and friends is on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD, 20882, where funeral service will be held at 12:30pm, and internment immediately following at Norbeck Memorial Park.
