Hilda Weber Obituary

Hilda Lorraine Weber, of Fulton, died peacefully at her home on Friday, August 12.  She was 88.  Mrs. Weber, fondly known by friends as Sis, was born and spent her childhood years with brothers, Stanley and Richie, in Sunshine and later in Burtonsville, MD.  As an adult, she and her husband, John, moved to Scaggsville Road in Fulton, where together they raised their four children.  She often spoke of working alongside her husband, as they built their house, where she lived for 65 years.

After their children were grown, Mrs. Weber worked for 16 years as a teacher at Burtonsville Baptist Church Preschool.  Her caring nature provided loving guidance for numerous children, as well as their parents, through the years.  "Sis" also shared her talents and energy as a volunteer with the Clarksville Fire Department Ladies Auxillary for many years.

Mrs. Weber had a variety of interests and talents, one of which became a part time profession.  Her love of cooking and artistic talent for cake decorating led to many requests for cakes, as well as catering, for a multitude of weddings and other celebrations.  Other interests  included crocheting and reading.  She was an avid sports fan, following the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Nationals and the New York Yankees, with Yogi Berra as her favorite player of all time.  But family was always the center of her life.  She would never miss a Johns Hopkins APL softball game, where she would watch numerous family members play on various teams through the years.  She was named "#1 fan" of the Vipers softball team, on which her son, Ronnie, pitched.  She supported them at every game with her own personal jersey and air horn.

Mrs. Weber leaves behind her three sons, John Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, Ronald, Donald and his wife, Katharine, a daughter, Lorri Pickett, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John, her parents, Clinton and Stella Howes, two brothers, Stanley and Richie, and a great grandson.
