Gregory Joliet, Sr. Obituary

Gregory Terrance Joliet, Sr., age 77, passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2025, in Rockville, Maryland. Born on July 28, 1947, in Topeka, Kansas, Gregory was the beloved son of Dr. Paul Joliet and Mabel Agnes Joliet. 

Gregory spent his formative years in Maryland, graduating from Good Counsel High School in Wheaton in 1965. He went on to earn a degree in accounting from the University of Maryland in 1969, laying the foundation for a successful career in the chimney sweeping business. On January 9, 1971, Gregory married the love of his life, Ann Soulant, in Rockville, Maryland. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. In 1977, Gregory founded Chimney Cricket Sweeps, Inc., where he dedicated his career to serving the community with integrity and care. 

Gregory was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his cherished wife, Ann; his loving children, Michelle, her husband Dean, Terry and his wife Lisa, and his adored grandchildren, Katie, Kelly, Kylie, Ella and Gregory. 

He also leaves behind his siblings, Paul Joliet, Regina Von Feldt, Timothy Joliet, and Christopher Joliet. Gregory will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his community, his strong work ethic, and his kind and generous spirit. His legacy of hard work and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him. 

The funeral will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 2900 Olney-Sandy Spring Rd., Olney, MD 20832 on Tuesday, March 4th, followed by the burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20906.
