Gloria B. Kennedy

Gloria Brown Kennedy, 86, of Sunshine, Maryland, passed away on November 9, 2021 at her home.  Born on December 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John Fletcher and Edith Brown. Gloria grew up in Unity, Maryland. She met the love of her life, Roland C. Kennedy and they were married in April, 1957. They enjoyed 58 years together until his passing in December 2015.

Gloria was an exceptional baker, seamstress and gardener. She was a devoted lifetime member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and the Olney-Sunshine Homemakers Club. Her happiest times were spent in her kitchen preparing meals for family and friends, sharing recipes and taking care of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Marsha Kennedy Ritter (Tom) and Myron Douglas Kennedy (Karla), her grandchildren Christina Ritter Nolt (Ryan), Victoria Justine Ritter, Thomas Kennedy Ritter (Emily) and one great-grandson, Charles Thomas Nolt.

Relatives and friends may visit on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 10am to 11am at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882, where a funeral service will be held at 11am.  Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Sunshine, MD.
