Gloria Marie Berher, 91, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 27, 2025, surrounded by love and the many memories she created for those closest to her.
Born on January 16, 1934, in Bellaire, Ohio, Gloria was the beloved daughter of Joseph DiStefano and Angela (Martinella) DiStefano. She was raised in Bellaire and carried her hometown values throughout her life—warmth, resilience, and an unwavering belief in treating others with kindness and respect.
Gloria’s greatest joy and proudest role was being a devoted mother. She had a gift for making people feel welcomed, accepted, and cared for. Known for her gracious spirit and generous heart, Gloria often saw what others needed before they said a word. Her empathy was her signature—steady, sincere, and deeply comforting.
In addition to raising her family, Gloria worked as a fashion consultant and fragrance promoter, a role that suited her beautifully. She had a natural eye for style and a love for helping others feel confident and special. Whether through her work or her relationships, she brought thoughtfulness and elegance into everyday life.
Gloria also loved gathering people together. She took immense joy in hosting dinner parties, birthdays, and holiday celebrations—events filled with good food, laughter, and the unmistakable feeling of being at home. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and china painting, treasured shopping adventures with her mother, was drawn to the joy of live music and concerts, and delighted in the simple, beautiful details that made life richer. Her kindness and acceptance of others will be remembered as the truest reflection of who she was.
Gloria was a faithful member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and her faith provided comfort and strength throughout her life.
She is survived by her children, Camille Berher and Jessy Cobretti (Joey); her sister, Betty (DiStefano) Wright; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Berher, and her parents, Joseph DiStefano and Angela DiStefano.
