George Montgomery Thompson was born February 9, 1930 in Norbeck, Maryland and he depart this life on October 19, 2021, at Casey House Hospice Center in Rockville, Maryland, he was 91 years old. He was married to his loving wife Alice Baker Thompson. They were married just shy of 68 years. He was the son of James Marshall Thompson and Margaret L. (Gates) Thompson. He was preceded in death by his fifteen siblings. He is survived by too many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews to list.
George worked as electrician and carpenter for more than sixty years. After retiring for several years, he over saw two major home renovation for two of his nephews.
He kept a well-maintained house and yard. He loved being outside as much as possible.
Favorite pass times. He loved to go to country music dances. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. George enjoyed country cooking and trips to Hershey’s Restaurant in Gaithersburg, for a fried chicken dinner.
Things to remember about George, he always met you with smile and he always asked how your day was going.
He will be truly missed by many.
Relatives and friends may visit on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 4pm to 6pm at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 11am. Interment will follow the service at Parklawn Cemetery in Rockville, MD.
