Gary Simpson, Sr. Obituary

Gary S. Simpson, Sr., 80, of Monrovia, MD passed away on December 11, 2021. Son of the late Thomas and Grace Simpson. Survived by his wife, Peggy Simpson, as well as his four children, Gary Simpson, Jr. (Connie) of Millersville, MD, Elizabeth Stiffler of Delaware, Julie Simpson (Chris Grimes) of North Carolina, and Emily Bell (Ryan) of Thurmont, MD. Also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 

Gary was the proud owner of Gary Simpson Associates, a furniture refinishing and upholstery company he started in 1981.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, camping and clay target shooting.  He enjoyed crabs and beer, playing pool and watching football.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished, above all else, spending time with his family and friends.

Relatives and friends may visit on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 11am to 12pm at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882, where a funeral service will be held at 12pm.  Interment will follow at Laytonsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Gary’s honor to a charity of your choice.
