In Loving Memory of Frederick Kelly
Frederick Kelly, a man whose life was marked by unwavering love and dedication, completed his earthly journey just after celebrating his milestone 80th birthday. While the solemnity of this moment weighs heavy on our hearts, it is an opportunity to reflect on his profound impact on our lives.
Fred leaves behind his partner-in-crime for nearly 60 years, Barbara, who will forever (and a day) be the love of his life. Fred also leaves behind four children: Susan, Lynda {husband, Dave}, Laurie, and Scott {wife, Kim}; and a squadron of nine delightful grandkids: Stephen, Sarah, Hayden, Brian, Ryan, Blake, Aidan, Eric, and Declan.
Dedicating his professional life to the satellite communications industry, Fred built a vast network of colleagues who respected his knowledge and admired his commitment to pushing boundaries.
His work cultivated a love for travel, which fed his adventure-hungry soul. He was the champion of saving up frequent flier miles and treating his family to epic journeys worldwide. These trips were more than just vacations; they allowed Fred to impart wisdom and worldview to all enamored by his storied life and voyages.
As a father, Fred had a wisdom that transcended generations. His sage advice and cherished sayings included:
"You will only be as happy as you let yourself be." Fred believed in the importance of finding happiness within oneself.
"Don't bang metal against glass." This simple advice served as a metaphor for treating delicate things with care and respect. (Well, that and the physical act of not banging metal against glass.)
"If your mind doesn't work, your back will." Fred's wisdom underscored the importance of mental resilience and hard work, lessons he carried throughout his life.
As we bid farewell to Fred, we do so with heavy hearts but also with gratitude for the privilege of having known him. We welcome friends and family to celebrate his life, share cherished memories, and find solace in each other’s presence during visitation, the funeral, or internment.
