Evelyn Nash

Evelyn Elena Smith Nash, 92, of Sandy Spring, Maryland passed away peacefully in her home on December 16, 2025.

Born August 26,1933, Rockville, MD.

Evelyn was the daughter of the late Lorenza Smith and Maude Moyers and sister Joanna.

August of 1935, Evelyn was fostered and raised by the late William Dove and Mavia Souder Evelyn’s Second Cousin.

Evelyn’s brothers and sister of late were Vincent Smith, Bernice Smith & (Foster) Bill Dove Jr.

Evelyn grew up in Washington, DC NW with her brother William Dove Jr. and spent the summer months in the Cottage she helped build, located on Bowie Mill Rd. Derwood, MD.

After the family moved to Bowie Mill Road, she attended Sherwood High School where she met Paul Landon Nash, fell in love and married in 1952.

She Studied at Columbia Technical Institute 1952.

Evelyn loved raising her six children and their friends, growing up in the Brookeville, Spencerville, Olney and Gaithersburg area.

Many friends have wonderful memories from hanging out at Nash’s.

She studied and taught Astrology for most of her life, engaging family and friends by giving them insight into their lives and future events.

She loved music, art, and theatre. Expressed her artistic spirit by being an avid painter for many years. She also was active in many political movements and fought the good fight!

Enjoyed traveling adventures around the world and living by the ocean in Hilton Head, SC and Topsail, NC. She also enjoyed living in Sebring, FL for ten Winter seasons.

Worked various jobs while raising her family.

Mother of All Mothers, Physician Administrative Clerk, Astrologist Consultant, DC Courier Driver, Reiki Healer, Police & Private Investigation Consultant and Seer of Truth and Wisdom.

Paul Nash died April 20, 2012.

Evelyn is survived by six children.

Paul (Chip) Landon Nash Jr., Dennis Michael Nash, Brandon Wesley Nash, Jeffrey Scott Nash, Lori Ellen Nash and Christopher Lawrence Nash.

Dennis & Donna Nash (1961-2020): Landon Nash, Kyle Nash & Ryan Nash,

Jeff & Debbie Nash: George Bivens (1981-2017), Samantha Nash.

Lori Nash & Doug Mote: Katie Mote Myers, Denise Mote & Kelly Mote.

Chris & Vicki Nash: Lucus & Graham Arnsburger, Sosha Davis & Alexandria Beard.

Great Grandchildren: Lana, JoJo, Noah, Logan, Charlotte, Khalie and Dylan.
