Elizabeth "Libby" Clark

Elizabeth Clark (age 82) of Olney, Maryland passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, Allen and Loretta (Simpson) Arnold. 

Libby is survived by her husband, Herbert David Clark, sons Jonathan (Brigitte) and Bryan, and granddaughter Claire. She is also survived by her sisters, Kathleen (Robert) Matz, Margaret (Albert) Kitlas, and Allyn Arnold.  

Libby was born on May 31, 1942, in Providence, Rhode Island. Raised in Jacksonville, Florida, she attended Florida State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. A lifelong educator, Libby acquired a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Maryland and taught elementary school in Baltimore and Montgomery County for over 40 years.  

A loyal fan, Libby enjoyed watching Florida State University sporting events, and while she loved getting together with family and friends, the greatest joy in her life was her granddaughter, Claire.  Libby cherished being a grandmother. Her loving spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family.

A viewing will be held on December 17, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm at the Roy Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882. A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 10am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 2900 Olney-Sandy Spring Rd., Olney, MD 20832. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Germantown, MD.
