Eileen McGuirk Forman

Eileen McGuirk Forman passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023, at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital.  Eileen is survived by her beloved husband Howard, daughter Rhiannon Smigocki (Christopher), son Nathaniel (Kristen), and four grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Smigocki and Noble and Elise Forman, two older brothers, John and Edward, aunts Alice and Ruth and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Eileen was born and raised in Hawthorne, NJ, the daughter of John J. McGuirk and Mary Cecilia McGuirk (both deceased).  She moved to Maryland for college where she continued to reside until her death.

Eileen enjoyed traveling, especially trips to New York City to attend Broadway shows and taking ocean and river cruises internationally.  She enjoyed crafting, including making cards to send to family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting, making shawls for Donate Life as well as founding the Montgomery County Chapter of Project Linus which provided blankets to help and comfort children in local hospitals. But most of all, Eileen loved spending time with her grandchildren.

A Celebration of Eileen’s life will be held on February 10, 2024, at the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center from noon to 4pm.  Reflections on her life will begin at 2:30 pm.
