Edward Stockton Obituary

Edward Lee Stockton, 48, of Montgomery Village, MD, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 19, 2025.

Ed was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Born on November 30, 1976, to Edward and Donna Stockton, he grew up in Murrysville, PA. He attended Messiah University, where he cherished his time on the men’s Varsity Soccer Team, and graduated in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in communication. In 2011, he also earned his MBA from the University of Maryland.

After college, Ed married Elizabeth—the woman he lovingly described as “the only girl who ever made me speechless.” Together they built a beautiful life and raised four children, whom Ed adored. He delighted in coaching their teams, sharing life’s adventures, and guiding them with love and wisdom.

Ed was deeply grateful for the communities he was part of and gave himself wholeheartedly to them. He enjoyed collaborating and building with the team at Kentro. He also faithfully served as Chairman of the Board for Covenant Life School for the past 11 years and as President of Eastgate, the neighborhood where he and his family lived.

Ed Stockton was truly the best of men, impacting all with his input, wisdom and passion. He was a man of deep faith in Christ, a devoted husband, and a loving father. He was kind, strong, and good—steady in spirit, joyful in heart, and filled with peace. His optimism was unwavering, his hope steadfast, and his faith unshakable. A faithful servant, Ed shared his talents generously and was a patient teacher who could explain anything with clarity. He loved people wholeheartedly laughing loudly, playing fully, and bringing light wherever he went.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Elizabeth Sylvester Stockton; their children Anne Hendry (Andrew), Thomas Stockton, John Stockton, and Elias Stockton; his father, Edward Stockton; his brother Ryan (Andrea) Stockton; his sister Emily (Keith) Persson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Stockton.

It was an honor and gift of grace to know Ed. He will be profoundly missed and always remembered with love and gratitude. He fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. Now he has received “an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison” from his Heavenly Father (2 Cor. 4:17).

A burial will take place on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Norbeck Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Covenant Life Church (7501 Muncaster Mill Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20877).
