Delores Rae Mallette (King), age 68, was a long-time resident of Silver Spring, MD, and grew up in Burtonsville, MD. Delores moved to Dinwiddie, VA in 2018 where she spent her final years. On Wednesday, October 26th, 2022, Delores passed away peacefully with family at her side.
Delores was predeceased by her father and mother, Herman and Barbara King; Ernest and Elizabeth German; her brother, Donald German and her grandson, Joseph Healy. She is survived by her children, Mary Gross, Richard (Jr.) and wife Jeaneen, Lindie and Ernest Mallette; Her Grandchildren Samantha and Anthony Healy, Richard (III) and Christina, Ernest (Jr.) and Ryan Mallette; and her great grandchildren, Cole Healy, Kailee, and Richard “RJ” Mallette. Delores is also survived by her brothers, Herman “Tick”, Robert “Huck”, Preston “Skeeter”, Larry “Kenzie” and Kevin King and her sisters, Jacqueline Bennett, Lori King, Vicky Hood and her very dear friend Diane Coger as well as so many nieces, nephews and loved ones that will also greatly miss her.
When Delores was young, she tried to live her life to the fullest, she laughed and danced and was full of spirit. She loved her children and those around her. She was the mom that opened her door to all the neighborhood kids, she was a very proud mother and boasted about her children to whoever would listen. She loved her grandchildren and tried to be the most loving grandma that she could be. Her family was everything to her, as she was to her family.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 5, from 6:00PM-8:00PM at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, MD. 20882. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 6 at 1:00PM at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722
