Deloise Westcott Kellert

Deloise (Lois) was born in Waynesboro, VA, on June 27, 1939, to Nannie Hutchinson and Cecil Westcott. The oldest of four girls, she earned a valued RN degree from the Medical College of Virginia. After graduation, Lois moved to Washington, DC, to pursue a career as an ICU nurse at the Washington Hospital Center. There, she met and married Lewis Kellert. While raising four children in Montgomery County, MD, Lois referred to herself as a domestic engineer. She could fix almost anything, from the kitchen sink, to a dog’s broken foot, to a homemade bike ramp. Lois is fondly remembered by her husband, Lewis; four children, Lisa Hawkins (Charlie), Lynne Bryant (Keith), Steven Kellert, and David Kellert (Erica); grandchildren, Calvin and Sydney; sisters, Gail Cheatwood, Vonda Leffler, and Jan Wenner; nieces and nephews, Cara, Bruce, Nate, LeAnne, Emily, and Sarah; and extended family and friends. A celebration of her life will take place in the future.
