Charlotte Sue Hafer was born to Robert and Nancy Hafer on January 20, 1954 in Washington, DC. She passed away at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville, MD on April 14th, 2026. She leaves behind her brothers John Hafer of Gaithersburg, MD and David Hafer of Mechanicsville, MD. Her work for major Government contracting firms was highly praised, which is evidenced by the multitude of accolades and awards she earned throughout her long career. Family, who referred to her as “Aunt Sue”, was of the utmost importance to her, as Charlotte could always be counted on to be present at a family event, whether it be a birthday, holiday, wedding, etc. She loved animals and gardening. These were her life-long passions.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 1pm at the Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882. To honor Charlotte’s memory, you may donate to the World Wildlife Fund at 1 800-CALL-WWF or visit https://protect.worldwildlife.org.
