It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carlos Alberto Davila, Sr., age 93, on Friday, April 10th, 2026, at his home in Olney, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Maria Esther Davila. Together they built a beautiful life together and were blessed with four children. He is survived by his four children: Carlos, Edwin (Elaine), Maria (Jim), and Albert (Lisa), 8 grandchildren, Lisa Marie (Patrick), Tyler (Lidia), Ashley (Matt), Jimmy (Molly), Christopher (Alexis), Lauren, Lexy (Scott), and Chrissy and 12 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Everleigh, Landon, Brooks, Brayden, Charlotte, Ella, Bella, Memphis, Abby, Delaney, and Bryan.
Carlos was born on July 8th, 1932, in Lima, Peru. He married the love of his life on December 4th, 1960, in Lima. He worked for the Organization of American States, which brought him to the United States in 1961. He worked tirelessly, often holding several jobs, to provide for his family. He was a man of strong faith and deep devotion to those he loved. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. One of his greatest dreams was to own a home at the beach - a dream he fulfilled, creating a place where his family gathered and built decades of cherished memories. He especially loved when everyone came together, often cooking his Peruvian recipes for the whole family. Many joked that he had missed his calling as a chef.
He will be deeply missed, but he will be remembered for his love, his strength, his faith, and the countless memories he created with those he loved most. His legacy will live on through the love and devotion he gave to his family.
There will be a mass for Carlos Davila on Friday, April 17th, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 12329 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD.
The family will receive visitors at the church beginning at 10:00 am, prior to the service.
